Questions we get asked most
Grouped into the three things people actually ask about. If something here is not covered, we are happy to answer anything by email.
How it works
5 questionsWhat does the consignment service actually do
You post us your cards. We photograph them, write the listings and sell them on our established eBay store, either in one of our 10 day auctions or at a Buy It Now price you set. When an item sells we pack and ship it, then pay you your percentage of the final sale price.
Should I choose an auction or Buy It Now
An auction suits a card people are already hunting, a chase card, a hot set, a fresh grade, or anything where comps are unclear and bidding will find the real number. Buy It Now suits low pop slabs, niche promos, sealed product and higher end cards with a solid comp history, where the right collector may take three months to come along. Send us a mixed collection and we will tell you which cards belong in which route.
How do the auctions work
We run two ten day auctions every month, one in the middle of the month and one at the end. Items of all values can be included in either auction, so there is no minimum and nothing is held back waiting for the right block.
Who writes the listing titles
We do. A title is how a listing gets found on eBay, so we word ours for search, and once a listing is live the title stands. If you do want a particular title on an item, it has to reach us before that item is listed and be written out in full so we can copy and paste it, and it has to fit inside the 80 characters eBay allows. We may amend a title that is too long, that would breach eBay's listing rules, or that does not describe the item accurately.
What if my card does not sell
An unsold or unpaid auction item is normally re-listed in a later auction block, and if something fails more than once we will talk through the alternatives with you. With an unsold Buy It Now item you have three choices. Pay £3 per item to keep it listed for a further three months, move it into an auction at no extra charge for the move, or have it back for a £3 handling fee per item plus postage.
Money and payouts
4 questionsHow much do I get
Between 85% and 95% of the final sale price, depending on what the item sells for. The more it sells for, the higher your share. Sales under £50 also carry a £3 handling fee per item. We cover every eBay listing and final value fee out of our own side, and the buyer pays the postage.
Do you take the eBay fees out of my payout as well
No. We pay the eBay listing and final value fees ourselves and the buyer pays the postage. Beyond your percentage the only charges that can apply are the £3 handling fee on sales under £50, the £1 fee if you ask us to price a Buy It Now item for you, £3 per item if you want a Buy It Now item listed for a further three months, and £3 per item plus postage if you want items returned.
When will I receive my payout
From 1 September 2026, payouts are normally made within 10 to 14 working days of the buyer's payment being received. Most are paid in 10 or 11 working days and a few take a little longer, which is why the window runs to 14. The payout period begins when the buyer has paid for the item, not when the item was originally sold. That window allows time for eBay's 14 day returns period, and we pay by bank transfer, PayPal or Wise.
How do I get on the VIP tier
VIP is granted at our discretion once you have reached £50,000 or more in paid sales through us in any rolling twelve month period. It is personal to you, non-transferable, meant to last, and applies to sales made after it is granted rather than to past ones. VIP reaches 90% at £750 instead of £1,000, 93% at £1,750 instead of £2,000, and 95% at £2,500 instead of £3,000.
Sending your cards
4 questionsCan I consign from outside the UK
Yes. We accept consignments from customers worldwide. If you are outside the UK, any customs duties, taxes or import charges are your responsibility, your parcel must be sent using a service that is handed to Royal Mail for final delivery within the UK, and any international transfer fees on your payout are also yours.
How should I send my cards to you
Whatever service you choose, the parcel has to reach us with Royal Mail, so from inside the UK that means posting with Royal Mail and from outside it means a service that hands over to Royal Mail for the final leg. Please pick a tracked and insured option. We do not accept parcels delivered by Evri, DPD, Yodel, UPS or any other courier, and parcels sent that way may be refused or returned at your cost. Pack the cards properly, because our responsibility starts when we confirm your parcel has arrived.
Are my cards insured while you have them
While your items are at our premises they are insured against events such as fire and theft. That cover does not extend to damage that happened before they reached us, damage caused by poor packing, or pre-existing condition and grading outcomes. Items in transit to us are your responsibility.
Who owns the cards while you are selling them
You do. Your items remain your property the entire time they are with us. They are yours until they are sold and paid for, or until they are back in your hands.
