Postage, both directions

Shipping policy

This covers postage in three directions. Your cards coming to us, sold items going to buyers, and anything coming back to you.

Sending your cards to us

It has to arrive with Royal Mail. From inside the UK that means posting it with Royal Mail. We do not accept inbound consignments delivered by any other courier, including Evri, DPD, Yodel and UPS. Parcels delivered by another courier may be refused, returned, or accepted only at our absolute discretion, and any additional costs are your responsibility.

You are responsible for packing your items securely and for choosing an appropriate tracked and insured service. We are not responsible for loss or damage while items are in transit to us. Our responsibility begins only once we confirm receipt of your package.

Sending your cards from outside the UK

We accept consignments from customers worldwide. The same rule applies at the end of the journey, so please use a shipping service that is handed over to Royal Mail for final delivery within the UK.

If you are consigning from outside the UK, these are your responsibility.

  • Any customs duties, taxes or import charges
  • Choosing a service that is handled by Royal Mail for the final UK leg
  • Any international bank transfer or payment fees that apply when we send your payout

Post to. Lake Card Store, PO Box 636, Sutton DO, Sutton, SM1 9WS

Please submit the consignment form opens in a new tab before you post, so we know your parcel is coming and can match it to you when it arrives.

Sending sold items to buyers

Once an item sells and the buyer has paid, we pack and ship it. The service we use scales with the sale price, and is subject to change based on postal service availability.

  • Sold between £1 and £250, Royal Mail 48hr Tracked
  • Sold between £250 and £500, Royal Mail 24hr Tracked
  • Sold at £500 and above, Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day, or an equivalent insured service

The buyer pays the postage, not you. It is charged on eBay and is never deducted from your payout. We may use equivalent services from other carriers for outgoing shipments at our discretion.

Once items are handed to the shipping provider we are not responsible for loss or delays caused by that carrier, though we will assist with claims where possible.

Getting items back

If you ask for items to be withdrawn from consignment and returned to you, at any time, we charge a £3 handling fee per item plus postage and packaging. This applies whether the items have been listed yet or not.

The same £3 per item plus postage applies to unsold auction items you want back, and to unsold Buy It Now items at the end of the three month listing period, where the alternatives are paying £3 per item to keep them listed for a further three months, or moving them into an auction block at no extra fee for the move.

We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit on a return you have requested. We will assist with any claim filed with the shipping provider, but we are not liable for a shortfall if the carrier declines to reimburse full market value.
