What we collect, and why

When you use the contact form

We collect your name, your email address, the route you are interested in and the message you write. We use it only to answer you. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, specifically responding to an enquiry you chose to send us.

When you submit a consignment

The consignment form is hosted by Typeform. It collects the details you enter about yourself and the items you want to sell. We use this to assess and set up your consignment. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then performance of that contract.

When you consign items to us

To run the consignment we need your name, contact details, postal address and the payment details you give us for your payout, which may be bank details, a PayPal address or a Wise account. We accept consignments from customers worldwide, so that address may be outside the United Kingdom. We also keep records of the items, the sales and the payments. The lawful basis is performance of our contract with you, and legal obligation for the accounting records we are required to keep.

When you buy from us

Purchases happen on eBay, not on this website. eBay collects and controls that data and we receive only what eBay passes to us in order to fulfil the order, which is essentially the delivery address and order details. eBay’s own privacy notice governs your account with them.

When you visit this website

Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising trackers and we set no analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We use the following processors and partners, each only for the purpose described below.

• Vercel, website hosting and server logs
• Web3Forms, delivering contact form submissions to our inbox
• Seonat Ltd, the agency that built and looks after this website, who receive a copy of contact form enquiries
• Typeform, hosting the consignment form
• eBay, the marketplace your items are listed and sold on
• Royal Mail and other carriers, delivering parcels
• Our bank, PayPal and Wise, paying you your money
• Our accountants, and HMRC where we are legally required to report

Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally it is protected by an approved safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become consignments are kept only while the conversation is live and for a short period after. Consignment and sales records, including payment records, are kept for as long as we are legally required to keep accounting records, which is currently six years from the end of the relevant financial year. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights.

• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Ask us to delete data, where we are not required to keep it
• Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
• Ask for your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent

To exercise any of these, email consignment@lakecardstore.com. We will respond within one month. You will not be charged.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page. This version was published on 13 August 2026.
